The power of waiting

Happy forthright Friday. Our positive quote of the day states: “One of the things that has to be faced is the process of waiting to change …, how much we have got to do to find out who we are, where we have come from and where we are going,” by Ella Baker. We wait for a variety of things from graduation to marriage, our children to grow up, our careers to flourish, for change, for someone to call our name or number at the doctor’s office, bank, or DMV. Being patient  while waiting is counterintuitive to our culture. We want it and we want it immediately. Things rarely come to fruition exactly as we planned. Life happens and delays occur. At those times we have a decision to make. Do we step back, exhale, and wait patiently or do we become consumed by anxiety, losing ourselves and our joy over situations in which we have no control. Waiting, as much as we dislike it, can produce patience, perseverance, tolerance, and acceptance. #Beinspired #Wait #LuminousQuotes
